- Free play is essential for children ages 1 to 5 as it fosters physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development. During free play, children have the freedom to explore their surroundings, engage their imaginations, and learn at their own pace. It helps develop problem–solving skills, creativity, and independence while enhancing coordination and physical strength through active movement. This is why kiddos are given the freedom to play around 60 to 90 minutes daily. This allows them to engage in unstructured activities and promote learning, self-expression, and the development of social interactions with peers.
